The weatherman had been talking gloom and doom all week, and all Generations members were concerned that the weather for our inaugural trip to Greenville might not be so great.  True to the weatherman’s predictions, the Saturday morning skies were gray and a fine mist was falling.  We were resigned to a rainy and gloomy day as we started our engines for the trip to our meeting point.

Then suddenly to the west we saw brighter skies and within minutes the sunshine was out in full array.  Hallelujah!  We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day for our trip.

We had 25 Corvettes and 54 attendees  for our inaugural trip to Greenville.  It was a beautiful sight to see them all running down the road – older models, newer models and all those beautiful colors!  Those of us with CD players enjoyed the great music provided by Chris and Mel Patton on the Inaugural Day CD’s they made for us. Our automotive director, Mark Curtis, led the parade and took us down beautiful country roads to enjoy the scenery.  We stopped at a little complex of shops called Pumpkintown to stretch our legs and quench our thirst, then it was back on the road for the rest of the trip.

We arrived at the Liberty Tap in Greenville and were greeted and shown to our tables.  Our orders were quickly and efficiently taken and the service was great.

Dinner was preceded with a very short meeting, and then we enjoyed a leisure dinner and great camaraderie.  Time flew by very quickly and before we knew it,

it was time to hit the road for our return trip home.  It was a fantastic day and one we will remember for a long time.  We’re all looking forward to our next trip!  I think the club motto is true….your car will get you here, the people will keep you here.
