Call to order:

Chris Patton called to order the regular meeting of the Generations Corvette Club at 7:00 pm on 12/19/09 at Red Rocks Restaurant.  He welcomed everyone to our second Annual Christmas party.

Approval of minutes from last meeting:

Chris Patton asked if there were any additions or deletions to last month’s minutes.  The minutes were approved by a motion from Linda Silvia and accepted by members.

Board Members’ Reports

Bart Richards: VP Membership:  83 active members (recounted as inaccurate the number reported at last meeting and at Board meeting) and two prospective members.  Bart commented on how well the club has done in only 2 years of existence.  He discussed new “mentoring/big brother” program in which new members will be assigned an existing member to help incorporate them into the club.  Bart will touch base with member who will be assigned prior to the club meeting.

Ronnie Steele: Treasurer:  Total of $3682 in club account including $284 for charity committee.  This does not include $350 in checks he received tonight. He will give check to Melissa for Christmas party.  Chris recognized Ronnie for his service as treasurer and thanked him.  Bart also recognized him.  Chris presented Ronnie with a gift from the club in recognition.

Melissa Patton: Events Coordinator:  Chris recognized her for setting up the great dinner tonight.  Melissa reported that new calendar will be launched on the website soon.  Most of the meetings have been planned along with many other events.

First event will be January 3 to Checkers game at 2pm and dinner afterward at Rock Bottom Restaurant.  See or email Rich Spina if attending.

January 17 there will be a brunch at Childress Vineyards.  Please check website for details.   January 30 meeting will be at Fort Mill Tavern.

Greg Tilley: Public Relations and webmaster:  Club calendar will be updated on Monday, with deadline for article and photo submissions on the preceeding Wednesday.  Will now be linked to another website with a calendar that appears as a monthly calendar and should be able to printed and read more easily.

Greg has made an inquiry out to the Charleston AFB about us attending and displaying at the Blue Angels show in April and will provide details when available.

Greg reported that he and Norm participated in two Christmas parades.

Regarding the St. Patrick’s Day parade: Chris will handle organization of who will be driving the officials and Greg will handle organization of who will be driving the pageant queens.  Please let Chris know if you are interested in participating in the St. Patrick’s Day parade.  Chris reminded that we are not allowed to throw anything from the cars during that parade.

Debbie Rather: Officer at Large:  Debbie reported that she still has travel mugs and koozies available for purchase.  All items have been turned over to incoming officer at large, Rich Spina, so see him to purchase.  He will be bringing some items to each meeting so members can purchase.

Chris mentioned that we would be replacing the Garage page on the website with a “Generations Gear” page which will have the items we have for sale.  We need to deplete our current inventory so we can start working on different items.

New business

Christmas gift:  All members should take a bag on the way out of the meeting with gift from club.  If interested in purchasing additional glasses, please see Rich Spina.  Thank you to Firestone for supplying some “goodies” for the bags.

Member of the Year:  Chris announced the male and female members of the Year:  Dan Yurko and Patti Spina.  They each received a glass trophy, free dues for next year and will receive a jacket.  Chris thanked them for their participation in the club this year.

Sponsorship Award:  Dan Yurko presented a “sponsorship” award to Mike Rather for his generosity to a Firestone customer who could not pay her bill recently.  Dan spoke about the club’s ability to not only have fun among each other, but to also be part of the community and to help others.

Door Prizes:  Mike Rather: R and R barbecue gift card; Dan Yurko: gas card; Norm Lontz: Supper restaurant gift certificate; Debbie Rather: Carraba’s restaurant gift card.

Chris reminded members to include gratuity for tonight in their bill for drinks as it was not included in cost of the dinner.

Chris thanked Norm and Joyce Lontz for giving him and Melissa a Corvette Transformers Stingray tree ornament and shared it with the club.
