Officer Reports

 

Mark Curtis - Automotive

  • Green Market sign-up sheets passed out for August 9th.  No limit to number of cars. Green Market will give $250 to our charity fund.  

  • Mark stressed that all e-mails for automotive events must be sent directly to him.

  • Auto Fair sign-up sheets passed out for September 6th and 7th, up to 25 spots for club members. Trophy line-up was changed.  1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be reserved for members showing both days. Other awards are open to all cars.

 

Ronnie Steele – Finance

  • $650.00 in checking account.  Anyone owing dues to see him after the meeting.

 

 

Melissa Patton – Events

  • Thank you to the Richards for hosting the June BBQ meeting.

  • Pilot Mountain Car Show and ride to Mount Airy is coming up August 2nd.  We will meet at exit 36 off -77 at .  Flyer was passed out to everyone.

  • Red Rocker Inn drive was cancelled in lieu of Green Market car show; will be rescheduled.

  • Litchfield Trip: everyone going needs to RSVP their day and time of leaving and length of stay to Melissa so she can coordinate trip and no one gets left behind.

  • Spaghetti Benefit for Victor Reveron will be scheduled for after Auto Fair so we have time to advertise and pre-sell tickets.

  • Encouraged membership to start thinking of next year’s calendar and make suggestions or plan an outing for the group.

  • Foster’s Grille has asked us to do a drive-in. Date is tentative, more information is forthcoming

 

Greg Tilley - Public Relations

  • Asked membership to send updated, fresh car/member pictures for website Showroom.

  • Air Show at Dobbins ARB in Marietta, GA, is planned for October 18th and 19th.  Greg to send e-mail to membership, needs tentative count of participants.

 

Debbie Rather - Officer-at-Large

  • See Debbie after meeting so we can get next order in shortly. A non-picture badge is $4, and picture badges are $5.

 

Old Business by Chris Patton

  • Name Tags – If you would like an extra name tag for you or a child or grandchild OR you would now like to have your car on the back, please see Debbie Rather.

    • There will be a second order going in soon for name tags.

    • We hope to have them returned before the August Meeting.

  • Harrisburg 4th of July Parade

    • Generations had 14 cars in the parade.

    • Generations Corvette Club has been invited back again next year.

    • Thank you to Mike and Debbie for hosting the after-parade cool-down picnic.

    • This makes two parades pre-arranged for the club for 2009.

    • For future parades, there is concern over the weight limit for guests riding on convertible lids.

  • Discussed details and present for Victor Reveron’s birthday coming up on July 26th; asked for membership to contribute to present and be sure to RSVP with dish/dessert to share.

  • Please get in pictures for the show room page for the web site. We would like to have good pictures with members posed with cars.

    • Please send these pictures to Greg Tilley.

 

New Business by Chris Patton

  • We need help in getting articles and information on the” Word on the Street” page on the website.

    • This page functions as the “newsletter” for the club.

    • Melissa has been doing this, and we need to get your help.

    • Does not have to be Generations material; we need to have articles about anything you do.

  • A banner needs to be ordered (sans flames). Checking into prices on a banner and frame; hope to have by Auto Fair.  Members have asked about decals and flags for parades. Debbie to check on ordering and pricing.

  • August Meeting
