Call to order

Chris Patton called to order the regular meeting of the Generations Corvette Club at 5:30pm on 7/31/10 at Rocky River Vineyards.  Chris thanked the Vineyard for hosting the meeting and the caterer (Catering to You) for the food.

Approval of minutes from last meeting

Chris Patton asked if there were any additions or deletions to last month’s minutes.  The minutes were approved by a motion from Linda Silvia and accepted by members.

Board Members’ Reports

Bart Richards, VP Membership: Bart introduced our guests: Dave & Elaine Gessner and Todd McGee & Tammy Warren.  Dave & Elaine Gessner and Todd McGee & Tammy Warren were all voted in as new members unanimously.

Debbie Rather, Treasurer: Debbie reported total $2,867.46 including $520.40 for charity in the club account.  She reminded the members voted in tonight to see her about dues.

Paul Silvia, Automotive: Car Care Day 8/14 and Auto Fair 8/28 & 8/29. Sign-up sheets for both events passed around.  Paul reinforced to members what committing to Auto Fair means and the process for where we get placed.  Basically, we are told where we will be placed based on the number of cars we bring.  If members commit to attending, they must plan to be there all day.  Paul will find out where we will be located from an event meeting next week.  Chris Patton emphasized that clubs do not get a choice on where we are placed.

Melissa Patton, Events Coordinator:  Melissa thanked everyone for their flexibility in the time change for the meeting.  The August meeting will be moved up to 8/21 due to Auto Fair and be held at Sticky Fingers in Concord at 5:00pm.  The Buck Baker racing school is offering discounted rides at 1pm for anyone interested.  Sunday, 8/1, will be the Wino Trail ride to three vineyards and dinner at Romano’s in Salisbury.  Email will be sent with rally point and time.  Lunch will be catered for Auto Fair again.  Pawleys Island dinner reservations being worked on.  Need firm RSVP’s.

Greg Tilley, Public Relations and Webmaster: Greg requested that members send him any pictures for website.  He has gotten some new ones recently and thanked everyone.

Rich Spina, Officer at Large: Rich has koozies for sale if anyone is interested.  He told new members to see him for badges.

Patti Spina, Secretary/Charity Committee:  No report

Old business:

Chris Patton commented on Greg Tilley’s email to members regarding RSVP to events and reinforced how important this is for making plans and ordering food as well as for trips to ensure we do not leave without someone.

New business:

Chris Patton reported that drag race event at Zmax is on 8/7 and 8/8, and we will need volunteers for both days and for the night before.  The club receives $500 for helping out, and our club name is on advertisements as the host club.  We also receive $5 for every non-Ford car registered after the first 100.  Volunteers need to be at Zmax at 6:45am both days.

Chris Patton reported that he is working on a golf outing to the Red Bridge course here at the Rocky River Vineyard.  More details to come.

Rich Spina reminded anyone who wants to be added to the monthly luncheon list to send him an email.

Rich Thomas invited members to join him on a trip to Corvettes at Carlisle the week of Auto Fair.  He will be back in time for Auto Fair.

Adjournment

Linda Silvia motioned to adjourn the meeting.  The motion was seconded and approved, and the meeting was adjourned at 6:10pm.
